Smile Ideas on building a wall for an expedition similar to the avalache???

I bought an expedition with the back cut off with a roll bar put in its place I will add pictures later so you guys have an idea of what is going on. What I would like to do is to somewhat rebuild the pillar using fiberglass and sheet metal with some sort of clip or fastener so I can easily have a removable wall for winter purpose. Has anyone had a lot of experience with fiberglass resin and sheet metal or just framing out for fiberglass resin??

Are you saying somebody made a pick up out of an Expedition?

I am having some taken, and posted within the next day or so. If I build a fiberglass frame it will be the first major one I will have ever done. Wanted to get some other opinions on possibilities, fiberglass may not be the best choice I don't know.

Post Original build specs

Here is the link to the original build, some things have not been maintained on the cover, and I am having those pictures put on soon, of close ups of what we want ideas on. The box that will be in the pictures has an amp and subs in it which I am not a big fan of with this type of vehicle so I am going to pull them out sometime when I get back. Roof is being redone to a new with a better fabric as well. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/293389...ord-expedition

That is going to be a big job no matter which way you decide to do it. Getting everything to seal up when it is closed with be a challenge. But I look forward to seeing the progress either way.

Looks cool like it is. Maybe you could get a insulated canopy to keep the winter cold out. Or park it and get yourself a winter beater. Either one would be easier than completely enclosing the cab.

But if you have to do it then you have to decide if you want it work with fiberglass or metal. Either could work and look good but the fiberglass has a better chance to come out looking cheesy. You could get a head start by finding a wrecked Avalanche and cutting out the pieces that you need. You could use the hardware and get an idea of how they are put together and what you need to do to get this to work.

I also think it looks pretty good like it is and think you should leave it as it is. If you must enclose it I think you should look for a rear panel from a pick up that might fit and instead of a fixed rear glass make it with a glass that lowers or just removes. There are lots of ways to enclose it including using the original rear hatch and glass assembly and then having the lower part grafted to the inner panels. Very interesting project that I would probably leave alone.
