I have a F-350 6.2 on order. The order was placed by the dealer on 1/23/11.

Talked to the dealer today (first time I have talked to them since ordering) and they think it will be built the last week of March. Dealer said they have been waiting on allocation and finally got some trucks released so they can be built. Dealer also commented they have two trucks yet that were ordered in December and just got built last week.

Dealer is in MN and is a medium to small sized dealership. Anybody care to comment on how allocation works and is the size of the dealer one reason (main reason?) why their orders seem to be progressing slower than what some people post on here.

Also, I have a $750 Private Offer certificate which expires 3/28/11. I suppose I will be out of luck with that or can the dealer figure out a way to still use it?

Congrats on the order. There's some good reading here and here about dealer allocation.

Great News!!!! I called Ford Customer Service, 800-392-3673, and learned my truck is in Cottage Grove MN (30 minutes from where I am sitting) awaiting it's final trek to my dealership. It arrived in Cottage Grove yesterday 3/16 and is still scheduled to be delivered to the dealer on 3/22. I offered to go get it now, the lady laughed. I can almost smell the new leather seats. Once its at the dealer they still need to install a DVD player, bed cover and mud flaps.

Nice! My truck sat in a rail yard for a week that was only 2 hours from me. I was like, c'mon, get a transport rig up there asap!!!

What dvd player are you getting installed? Something in the rear seats or a new head unit? I was going get the headrest dvd players but the shop never called me back so I figured it was a sign. For the head unit, I bought a Lockpick that unlocked the dvd/nav while driving.

I have a Xoom and iPad 2 on order for a little over half the cost of the headrest dvd players. The kids think the tablets are going to be theirs, boy are they in for a rude awakening! lol...

I just spoke with my salesperson, Jesse at New Brighton Ford who's has been awesome, and he offered to drive to Cottage Grove next Wednesday, on his day off, and pick up my truck if it looks like therre might be unexpected delays...now that's customer care.

I am meeting with the after market specialist at the dealership later this week to look at and discuss options. They do the single drop down player on the ceiling, the headrest screens with one DVD player, or headrest screens with two DVD players so my two rug rats can watch seperate movies. It all comes down to $$$. I have to be honest, I'm not a gadget guy when it comes to ipads, ipods widgets and sprockets...I'll have to look at that as well in the next day or two.

He also carries a plethora (yes, I said plethora) of floor mats and mud flaps. I've read good reviews on the Husky brand flaps. He warned me he's got tons of options which sometimes makes it difficult to decide...nice problem, right? Damn I can't wait!

Dealer actually called back this morning and said they now have a build date of March 21 for the truck. They then mentioned that they have been having a terrible time with transportation and it has been taking twice as long as it normally should for vehicles to arrive once they leave the plant.

Dealer than said that it may take a couple of weeks for delivery but was worried it could take up to one month. I noticed other people on here from MN have been having problems with long deliveries also. Maybe it is an issue specific to our area.

That's very cool of your dealer. Mine was great to work with but I opted not to contact them for updates and went directly to Ford. I got the feeling my dealer was annoyed by my impatience. I was annoyed by my own impatience as well, but with 4 kids, the patience wears out quick!

My stereo guy was going to install some dvd headrests (sep. dvd's like yours is offering) for like $1700 or so. I was all for it until the guy never called me back. I called 2x, never got the call back so screw 'em. I decided the tablets would be nice to have, they'll fit in the rear seat pockets on trips and are out of sight for thieves. I'll get the iPad 2 and Xoom for about $1200. The iPad is nice, just hate iTunes. I get everything directly on the iPad and avoid iTunes if I can. I've done some reading on the Xoom and it sounds really cool, am anxious to get it.....for the kids of course...

I have a set of the Husky weatherbeater floor mats, love 'em. I posted some pics here.

That's awesome news. Mine was off loaded in Cottage Grove yesterday, and at my dealership last night. My sales person Jesse has been great about keeping me updated. He called at 8:30 pm saying it was on his lot. I was with a few folks wearing green so I couldn't leave, but today I plan on stopping by to take a peak at it...and a few photo's. They have some after market items to install for me.

New Toy!!

OK, so we're trading in out somewhat problematic '06 6L diesel F-250 for a new 6.2L, 4.30 rear, with all the bells and whistles. Here's the time line:

Ordered Jan. 31
Build date: the week of March 7
Estimated at the dealer: week of March 21
Arrived at the dealer: March 18

Couldn't wait, so we went by the dealer's lot this morning on the way home from Church and took this picture.
Now we just have to wait for them to get the bed cover on and we can get it on the road!

So the wait is finally over. Great news. You have a awesome dealer there. I wish mine knew what a truck was. The dealership I went to don't sell very many trucks, especially Superduty's. Oh well, I got mine, now I'll just have to go somewhere else for service.

Put up some pics when you get it, it's been a long time waiting.

Congrats n3hcp on the new toy. That's a good time
line too. Looks like the dealer did the off-road test
for you already. Hope you have many successful years
with the new rig.
