Quaker State oil change?

I use motorcraft Synblend 5-20 and motorcraft filters while under warranty.
Then I go to Mobil One full synthetic 5-20 while continuing to use the motorcraft filters.
The Fram filters have a poor reputation here on FTE.
From a oil filter review elsewhere

Fram Extra Guard - PH4967 - $4.99
General observations: The anti-drainback valve rubber was the thinnest and flimsiest of all the filters. Pretty good glue job on attaching filter element to the cardboard end caps. This filter has the grip area on the outside of the canister which makes it easier to tighten the filter by hand when putting it on the car, the only down-side I've experienced with this grip area is trying to get a filter removal tool cap over it, a really tight fit. This filter appears to be the lowest quality of the group. But it is one of the most expensive of the group too, I guess marketing costs are pretty high here. The cardboard end-caps for the filter element, the cheap plastic by-pass valve and the flimsy anti-drainback valve will make me stay away from this filter. This filter is made in Canada. I can't tell what standards it meets (J806 or J1858).
Take a look at some of these sites and then go change your filter;

I agree....I use Motocraft syn blend,and the Motocraft filter on my 07 f-150XL.
on my "other" vehicles,I use Castrol GTX,and Fram Xtraguard filters.Have yet to have any oil related issues.
Change intervals on the F-150 are 5000 miles.The other vehicles(98 Honda CRV,and 02 Chevy Impala LS) are 3000.

Guess you didn't believe everyone at FordF150.net and F150online.com that told you MC syn blend was a great oil at a great price.

I don't know how to insert a different thread as a quote but just the other day I replied to a similar thread about oil and filters. Basically it goes like this, Motorcraft oil and filters are engineered and for Ford engines. I personally think that for the small difference in cost I use the oil and filters engineered and manufactured for my engine. The oil and filter is the most crucial components of our engines and the oil and filter is way cheaper than replacing an engine. I'm not saying that the other oils aren't any good, but they aren't manufactured specifically for our vehicles.

I switched back to MC oil, unless your using a full syn oil like I was then there is little reason not to at least consider MC oil.

I currently use Motorcraft oil and filters with my Ford products and Motorcraft oil and AC filters on my chevy. However, I used Fram filters and Quaker State (on and off) for 30+ years previously and never had a problem of any kind. I think the best oil and filter you can use are ones that are clean. If you keep the oil and filter changed as per the recommendations from the manufacturer, you are unlikely to have any problems regardless of the brands you are using.
