which fuel sending unit and how many ohms?

I finally have all but one part in for my fuel system replacement on my 85 E150. All I lack is the filler tube hose which should be here tomorrow.

I originally ordered a Spectra Premium fuel sending unit Part #FG72A
Then after more research I read that sometimes the float rod has to be bent in order to get the right readings on the gauge.

Once I received the Spectra sending unit I noticed it has a plastic float and opened plastic (resister windings), there is no metal cover over it as in this pic. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/331403626795?lpid=82&chn=ps
SO I ordered a Ford part #E0UZ-9275-B
http://www.ebay.com/itm/80-85-E150-E250-E350-NOS-FORD-E0UZ-9275-B-GAUGE-ASSY-FUEL-TANK-UNIT-/111219748646?nma=true&si=j9gGXVGqW5quz2Gpx9QyuEo7aOY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
My question is about the ohms..
my readings are as follows:
Float down = Empty
Float up = Full

Spectra =Empty= 75.2 ohms
Full = 10.1

Ford =Empty= 70.2
Full = 10.1

I am guessing that the Ford sending unit should fit right in with no need to adjust it?

Another question might be about the effects of ethanol fuel on the sending unit. The ford unit has a brass float. The Spectra is plastic of some kind...

Thanks

I can only comment on the floats, the brass one will corrode at the wire holding it. It will take 10 years or less.

Thanks for the advice Jimandnina
The link i posted for he Ford sending unit is not the one I ordered. It looks like that one is missing the screen.. The one I found was only $42 with free shipping and had no rust on it.. If did not have the locking ring and seal but the new tank came with one.

I don't know hos long plastic will hold up either but at least for 10 years or so I wont have to worry about!

If anyone is interested, here is a site that shows where you can buy non-ethanol fuel around the country
Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada
