I have a 2005 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4. When I turn off the truck, take the keys out of the ignition and open the door, power remains to the radio, power windows and moon roof. I have tried the WD-40 trick on the door latches and checked all of the fuses. I have taken this truck to several mechanics, none of which can offer a solution. I have been told that it could be the gem module, but I can't even find if the 2005 model has one. I have also been told that the radio could be bad, but that would not explain why the windows and moon roof still work. Someone please help me out!

 

Do your dome lights stay on as well? If they do, i'd say it is a faulty latch that the WD40 couldn't fix.

 

No the dome lights do not stay on. If I get out and close the door I can still hear the radio but all the lights are off.

 

Maybe I'm confusing two different circuits...the way the radio / window feature is supposed to work is that those items will stay powered for a short amount of time until you open the door. When the door opens it cuts the power to them. Have you tried opening another door while this phenonmena was happening? If the power goes off to those items at least you've isolated it to a particular door. If they don't go off, then it is system wide and you've got to look elsewhere.

 

I have tried that and the radio stayed on after opening and closing all of the doors. Sometimes it will turn off randomly only to turn back on a few minutes later.

 

The contacts in the accessory delay relay could be welded together. I would start by swapping out that relay to see if the issue clears up.
