'95-01 Explorer Lift Kits
I am wanting to put at 2-4" lift kit on my '99 Explorer 4dr 4WD. I have looked on various websites and magazines, and I haven't seen any. There are some for '93-97 Rangers, but none even for the more modern Rangers. Is there a reason nobody makes lift kits for 2nd Gen. Explorers?
If there are kits that fit these vehicles, what are they?
Thank you!

If you want 2" of lift, you can do it for cheep. Just buy a set of 2" lift shackles for the rear. You can get them for less than $70. Then just crank up the torsion suspension on the front to match. After that all you need is an alignment.
If you want to go more than that, it get's more complicated/expensive.
Here is one place to buy the shackles online:

There are a few lifts out there for them, but they are $$$, especially for what you gain. The popular method is rear shackle/add-a-leaf, front TT (torsion twist) and 3" body lift.
Oh no, I said body lift, LOL! The hard core guys flinch and get sick when you mention a BL...say it isn't safe and the world will self destruct if you drive down a public road with one, but I can attest to the fact that they will hold up to daily driving, weekend wheeling and the impact of a 2010 Ram Quadcab doing 45+ slamming into it. (check my album)
With that, you can comfortably run 33's on stock wheels without any real issues. If you run aftermarket 15x8's, you will probably have to trim/massage the rear edge of the front fenders.
Do a quick google search of "Explorer TT body lift" and you will find a great site with more info than you can shake a stick at, and the members love Explorer are are more than willing to help a guy out.
