I don't believe it's any different, they're just marketing to the people they want to sell to. Older cars specified 10W30, newer ones specify 5W30.

I went to a Walmart today and looked for it. No luck. Must be a brand new product b/c I don't even see anything about it on the Mobil1 website.

I did find the Mobil1 10W-30 "Higher Mileage Vehicle Formula" at Advance Auto Parts. Mobil claims its "100% synthetic" like Blue Oval said. It was the same price as all the other Mobil1 synthetics on the shelf.

I notice on the back label it says: "Engineered for higher-mileage cars and all light trucks. Mobil1 10W-30 is fully compatible with the seals in higher mileage cars."

That kind of statement seems directed at the issue of leaky seals. That to me would suggest that the new high mileage version might have a little bit different additive package than what the other Mobil1 oils contain. But I also have to say that I share a little bit of MrBSS's skeptism, as well. Could be the same stuff with a fancier name.
