Titan Fuel Tank for LWB

Has anyone installed the new 65 gal. Titan tank on their LWB truck yet? Any installation tips....

What did you pay? Cheapest I found was $1,326 including shipping.

Too bad Epic doesn't have a LWB....LOL

Has it been released for production? Last I heard it would be early Summer before they were ready to ship.

LOL... the replacement fuel tank on the E 350 is $220.

Think I can also do a between the rails tank pulled from a diesel E chassis --- though the suspension may have to be lifted (to give proper clearance for FMVSS).

I would love to have one, problem is I guess you can't recalibrate your computer for the "miles to empty" to read accurately. I know its not a big deal, but hate having something not work on a brand new truck.

We got word last month that Ford is adding the ability to update the tank size in the PCM and therefore restore the MTE functionality. It's going to be available in the IDS release v71 to dealers coming out this month. Owners who have installed the larger tanks are really looking forward to getting this feature back.

Sports:

Check with someone with an IDS to see if fuel tank size can be dealer reprogrammed.

I am sure it can be..

The other way is to hook up the 2nd tank as a "transfer tank" where you "fill" by using a electrical pump to pump it into the main tank.

That will be perfect. An extra 30 gallons without loosing bed space is a win win. At only 11 mpg seems like I spend as much time at the gas station as the driveway. Now just to apply for the Credit Line against the house so I can "afford" to fill it up! On top of the high gas prices here in Oregon we just go an added 6 cents per gallon tax added as of Jan 1st.

Good Luck..With me towing, when I used to refuel, it was also time for a bathroom break or fill up the coffee. Worked out well

My new, ordered, F350 has about the same size tank as my 09 F150 that I sold...

Hey, you can really economize and save enough to pay for the coffee if you just filled the DEF at the same time.

I installed the 50 gal in my 350 with no problems. Took me about 4 hours because I was being a perfectionist. The flash to change fuel tank size will be out soon, I was at my dealer this morning and asked. They told me that they were already notified that it is on the way.

I just went to the Titan website. They are still saying a release in the 1st half of 2011. I do not see where they have started shipping them.
