Location of blower fan motor relay on 97 Aersostar?

Hi, I'm having some trouble with the front blower fan on my 97 Aerostar 3.0, it will only intermittently work, one time we had it running, lifted up the hood on the van, checked the connection to the motor, looked good, dropped the hood and the fan immediately started working again, I'm wonder if the relay might be startting to go bad, the fan in the back works, so I'm not sure. Does anyone know where the relay is for the blower motor, or what might be wrong?

I have seen the connection to the blower motor resistor go bad. Its over there next to the motor. In the air box 5 or 6 wires going to it..

Usually when the resistor pack goes bad, the blower will only work on high speed.

True, a failed res-pack will leave your heater with high only. But this symptom sounds like a bad connection, which is what Dick is proposing.

Its one of only a few connectors thats not water proofed..And its high amperage..Plus made of rustable steel. Ask me how I know. As far as the relay there isn't one for the front heater..

My statement is not a substitution for good troubleshooting, but my Aero had the exact same problem about a month ago. Turns out it was the fan motor itself.
I happened to have another Aero waiting to go to the scrap yard and I quickly took the fan motor off and substituted it.
About two weeks later, my wife commented on how the fan fixed itself.....

Did the same thing here. An easy swap. If whacking the fan motor with a piece of 2x4 gets it going temporarily that's a pretty good sign that the motor is almost shot. So I swapped the "summer van" to the "winter van". Now I'm looking for a motor at the wreckers...Aerostars are almost rare, so far no luck.
