Where's the damn inertia switch?!?!?!

On my '94 F350?

I am having a fuel delivery issue with my one ton. I pulled the filter this morning and some pretty grey crap came out of it so I feel that was the problem. The thing is, it still wont start. If I squirt some starting fluid into the throttle body it fires right up, but it's refusing to start or run of it's own. The pumps are in the tanks and it won't start/run on either tank so I really doubt it's that. The only thing that I can think of now is the inertia switch, but I can't find the friggin thing.
It is supposed to be on the drivers side fire wall or behind the kick panel, but I don't see it. I am about to lose my friggin mind.

Anyone want to save my sanity?

I did a motor swap to carb, and use that switch as theft prevention. it will start and run but will run out of gas down the street, along with back fireing.

Excellent post 7ford5. I cross up the wires to that thing on both my Ford trucks. That solves that problem for good.

I went back and looked again, but I don't see anything that could even be mistaken as a button. Am I missing something here?

It changed for the later years right? My '90 is on the driver side, found it when trying to depressurize my fuel system.

hey did you ever found out if the inertia switch was the problem?... i have a 94 f-450 7.3 powerstroke diesel truck, and the only way it starts is with a tap of starting fluid.. and now it just left me stranded, unpluged the fuel lines and no diesel coming out... any tips?

That doesnt sound like an inertia switch issue. Your truck wouldnt stay running as mentioned above. That switch turn off the pumps. Sounds like you may have a bad pump or something causing you to lose pressure in the lines while your truck sits.
