How many here actually drive your trucks?

My driver is a 49 Merc 1/2 ton. I bought it in 1978 from the grandson of a farmer in Bentley Alberta. The kid could not get it started. I looked, picked it up, took it home, looked. The old battery was frozen. New battery, plugs etc. Fired right up. I have been driving it ever since. This year I hope to do the body, again, and a new paint job. Cheers. Michael.

It's taking a while to get it there, but I intend to drive my grandpa's old '58 F250 work truck on a regular basis once its road worthy. Eventually, it'll have an updated drive train and suspension, four wheel discs (converting to 4wd while I'm at it), and fully functional remaining original systems. It probably won't be a daily driver, but will definitely be a light duty farm truck / Lowes runner. And it should look pretty cool cruising around, too.

I have had my F1 since '75 and used it as my daily driver/ work truck in the '80's.
Now I drive either of them as much as possible in the spring, summer and fall but put them to bed for the winter. We have about 2 feet of snow on the ground now and would not want to subject the trucks (or myself for that matter) to those conditions! I do love to drive them, each for different reasons, and the comments, smiles, thumbs-up and honks sure have a way of saying that all those hours (and dollars!) were worth it !

Yes, mine is driven year round, in good weather, when I want to or when I have to. For instance, my son, who is a freshman in college asked if he could have the car I normally drive to school (I teach) cause he is going out for breakfast. He walks or rides his bike to college, but he is on semester break now and needs the car so I think I will take the truck to school tomorrow. I also use it for hauling stuff, mulch, yard waste, etc.
They are no fun if you don't drive them!

Back in end of November, a guy drove his 55 panel up to my shop, and it was full of skids in the back. I asked why he hauled all the skids and he said they were for weight. He drives it all year and in winter in Ohio/Pa and needs weight.
It was a beater, but still ran good and solid, but needs some attention fast before it isn't road worthy. Nice to see someone just drive em the way they were intended.
