Hey guys quick question does anyone know if ford ever put the front brake calipers on a 1979 F250 on the front discs on the front of the rotor as I have always seen caliper mounted on the back never on the front, I pointed it a guy in his youtube video cause he installed them on the front but he says no, I say total safety hazard but I didn't want to offend anyone so I wanted to see if there was the possibility of it. I don't think so but hey check out his youtube video and watch for the front calipers.
I don't remember how my '79 was configured but my stock '73 F250 RWD Camper Special certainly has the dual piston calipers positioned at the front of the rotor.
Why would it be a safety hazard? It just has to be mounted to the axle and grab the rotor doesn't it?. Doesn't look like it would fit on the back with the tie rod there.
Here's the illustration from the Ford parts catalog, for the dual piston calipers the calipers are mounted on the front.

Ok thanks guys I just have never seen them like that before, as for safety I was just concerned when I saw how tight the hose was and if you turned it would put stress on it. But it's all good thanks for the direction.
