it's pretty straight forward from what I've seen so far, plus Pete is very informed on SDs. Mostly jusy marking stuff, unhhoking, pulling, new insatll, then reverse.

Nice! I'll try to be thawed out by then. I'm going to work on it this morning, I have to make dinner for family at about 5:45 so we'll see what we can have done by then; truck is outside up against garage opening so it'll be cold today

Well guys looks like the transplant is going on hold....

I started cleaning up the exhaust ports on the heads on the newer engine today and it seems I got the sticky end of the stick......

4 of the header bolts are broken off in the heads; 1 is flush and 3 have about 1/2" sticking out. The one that is flush actually had the exhaust gases eat away the aluminum of the head and I may need to reuse my old head; not sure if I need to recondition the head, it has 160k on it...

At least we can get the old one pulled today and swap out the starter, flexplate, and whatever else.....

Engine is still in the truck. Starter's gotta come out, trans needs to be unbolted, motor mounts undone, TC unbolted.
