That is NOT shiny red, that is copper metal flake and just a web pic. But a great roll cage/rock slider tie in idea.

Both red with strips is not mine either, its 2 web shots and what I am working towards as far as rock slider design and tie in.

Well just did the rocker panel delete trick, going to add some rock sliders/re-tie the roll cage (front and rear) to the frame and incorporate the sliders all in one package deal this weekend. And make it so I have a side mounted receiver hitch point, so I can move my winch to the side. BAM.

This was a long awaited project, I am far from done. This was just as the pieces hit the driveway. So mores pics to follow. Yes I still have some "low hanging fruit" to trim off. lol

what parts?

not sure it'll ever C doors again but hope whatever U do allows them to B mounted again.
Always like what U come up with & have confidence you'll tie everything to the frame. Saw one where the legs went right thru the floor & were out bout 2 - 3 feet after a flip. Pointless, cosmetic only, worthless, dangerous, dumb; better stop - might say the wrong thing…

Good advice and thanks for the vote of confidence.... Yes I will be able to remount my fiberglass inserts with some vinyl 1/2 doors to try and keep some warmth inside it.

I am taking it to my buddies welding shop this sat and we are making some 2x3 (thick wall) rectangle tubing sliders, then tie it all together.

More pics to come. I got the idea w/pics off the ClassicBronco site. http://classicbroncos.com/tech/cutting-off-rockers And http://classicbroncos.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=214227

And a few others, and a big thanks to all. http://broncofix.com/viewtopic.php?t=274021&view=next

Day 2...Here is what we got done today, Bronco off the trailer at the shop at 0800, job done both sides and back on and home by 545.

We got all the rest of the underside of the body cut and prepped, rock sliders built, with the center receiver hitch idea and the roll cage/frame tie-ins X4 all completed.

I can hang the winch off either side, make some QD steps, put my farm jack in the hole and lift the side of the Bronco off the ground.

Opinions, questions, input? All welcome.

Interested in the step and & how U will locate what kind of access for the farm jack.

I have cooper running back to my rear (& frnt) reciever to locate the winch either end. I guess I could head it off on that 1 side & run some over to the other side but for the expense I can't see it. How often does one need to winch from the side?

Interested in the step & jack point from that iron 2 by 4! (I got a 6 ft piece, probably only 1/2 the needed stock).

Here is the final none painted product, the roll cage front down bar floor plates were already welded to the floor pans (which is 3/16 tread plate), the rears were not.

So I only grade 8 bolted them to the bottom plates (supported by the rock rails front and rear)...and did not weld the underside rock rail plate to the under side of the tread plate....I might in the future.

I did one weld pass on the one side of the dvrs side plate. Since I was missing some body panel and could access is very easy. You can see it in the 3rd pic.

It is a standard receiver size middle tube, so I can fab any kind of step for the wife. The farm jack lift point will fit in there just fine. Wiring the winch is on the list (I have QD ended jumper cables for now) so I can hot winch it truck to truck or to my trailer.

I am going to leave enough cable to run it to the front/rear and side. But only have one set of cables connected to one power source with QD's on the end.

Not sure what you are seeing, it was all 2x3 heavy wall or 2x2 heavy wall, the receiver tube is 1/8"?? and 1/4 for the plates.

It's all good. It was a top view of the main tube before the ends bars and the one fwd cage mount cross bar was added. The red squares are the roll cage attachment points.

W='s winch.

I had a very smart guy helping me with the design and welding. At first I had a different front tie in idea, then he figured out a better plan, and we went with it.

Tested the high lift jack hitch point ability, got both tires off the ground. I am going to get an Alien jack base...or try a little fabrication of my own.

Alien Jack Base for Farm Jack | Hard Core Trail Gear, LLC

I also removed the spare tire baja mount. it was a total view blocker for backing up.
