The power locks on the drivers side works some times and doesnt work some times. I've take the panel off and traced the problem to down in the door, next to where it latches. I cant see down in there, but when I wiggle the cord it will stop and start working. I'm thinking I will have to take the whole latch part off to diagnosis the problem, but wanted to check and see if that is the best route to go before I start taking that apart.


Truck is a 03 xlt, extended cab.

4wd, 4.6 auto. and it does have remote locks. (the problem is the same with or with out the remote) but it does work with the key, or if you pull the handle.

I do not know if the main door and a crew cab door lock setup works the same, but, on mine, the crew door latch worked on cables, like the cables on a lawn mower. On the ends attached to the latch and lock were threaded adjusters. I drive a lot of gravel roads, and apparently the vibration unscrewed the adjusters to the point that the doors worked like yours. Mine's a '99.

OK, by cord you mean harness ? Probably just corrosion. Seems like you should be able to access that with the lower panel and dust shield peeled back a little.

I'm guessing the problem is electrical. The problem I ran in to is that I cant see anything down in the door, I can only feel it. I guess if anyone has a pic of that area it wold help.
