I have used valve stem extenders in the past and have found them to be unreliable. I just stick my head into the wheel well above the tires so that I can see what I am doing and use an ordinary pencil gauge to check the pressure.
Agree 100%.
My F-550 wheels have these little tiny holes in the rims that simply won't allow access to the inner wheel.
Without my extended stems, checking the inner pressure would be impossible without extenders or removing the outer tire.
That's why I really like my setup, they are true valve stems that are long enough to reach the rim on the outer tire.
They are not extenders, which I don't trust, but true valve stems. Just really long ones.
