I have a 2001 V-10 Excursion. Currently I have a 3" in two 2 1/2" out single muffler. I would like to replace it with a STAINLESS Flowmaster but I am not sure which series. Flowmaster makes a stainless version of what I need in the standard 40 series, 40 Delta flow, Super 44, and 50 Delta Flow. Which do you think would be best for my v-10?

In a Flowmaster, I like the Big Block 50 series. The big boy.
Quiet enough to tow with.

 

Flowmaster doesnt make the Big Block 50 in Stainless. It would have been my first choice, but with the salt in these parts, I just dont see it lasting.

 

I have a 99 F250 SD with the 40 series flowmaster on it, it sounds decent at a high rpm but dropped my fuel milage down to 9.1 mpg.

 

I installed a Magnaflow and removed my resanator. Sounds alot better than that damn "hisssss" but didn't seem to do anything for mileage or power. I already had the Predator and Airaid system which definately woke this V-10 up.

 

I had the 50 series big block on my 03, and it sounded great. Call Flowmaster and ask them what would be the closest muffler in stainless.
