ClearProp - did you ever get it worked out?? I'm at the end of my swap on my 02, saw this thread yesterday morning and went into panic mode. I think I've got it close, thanks to this thread and visiting a bit with camodown, but I was wondering if you got yours going and how you like it. I plan on bring more attention to this thread with a write up when I get mine done. Try to let people know that 02's are not the same as 99 to 01's. Thanks to both of you.

Same reason someone would put 17 gauges in their truck.

For prototype testing? Really? What is someone testing on a ZF-6?

Honestly, the ZF-6 is completely worthless on anything but a stock truck. The cost to do the swap is way more then a properly built 4r100. And a properly built 4r100 will run circles around any ZF-6 truck.

If you are a Good Parts Finder the change costs only time. But to each their own. I dont like pulling with an auto. One of my trucks has a BTS and at the end of the day it still is One speed Short and i dont like pulling with it.

The fact we can all give opinions here is great as is the Choice we have in what mods we make, what transmissions we run, gages we prototype test etc. I am Glad you like your automatics. I Run the zf6 for control and also so People dont ASK to Drive my Truck haha.

Really? I've got less than $3k in my swap and that includes a manual transfer case and a $700 clutch.

You do have my curiosity up on what a Prototype Pressure and Temperature gauge does/looks like.

BTW.... My original statement was geared more toward "I did it because I wanted to".

And you have a truck now that will not tow as much and will struggle with shifting issues.

The Zf6 is fine on a stock truck, maybe even a chipped truck, but anything after that a properly built 4r100 will tow circles around it.

I've been testing for Isspro for about 8 years or more... From EV-1's to EV-2's to Performax.

I have 17 gauges because the Performax system will run up to 17 gauges.

I've got my Truck running like it came from the factory with the ZF. I really appreciate all of Camodown's help.

Here is the thread that I created to consolidate all of the information on how to get the wiring right on the Late 01 - 03 swaps.

ZF6 swap and problems

I bought a 2001 f250 Fummins. During the conversion they swapped the auto trans for a 2002 ZF6. The reverse lights don't work and the plug in the transmission isn't there. Also the speedometer doesn't work. The guy said he accidentally cut the speedo harness out and lost it. Does anyone know where I could get the plug for the reverse lights and harness for the speedo? Also are the sensors on the wheel assy cause I don't see any other plugs on the ZF6. Please help.

The vss vehicle Speed sensor is on the rear differential at the Top. The Reverse Lights are a two Pin plug. One wire is hot and the other goes to the taillight.

Thanks for the help. The harness is cut somewhere. So I should be able to splice those wires in?

Also, the odometer works. Just not the speedometer. And the needle is layed all the way over to the right. Is it still the VSS?

Thumbs up

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site. Going to convert my 03 350 to ZF6 & a manual T case. My question is: I know the wiring differs between the 99-01 & the 02s for this swap, does the 03 use the same configuration as the 02, or is it another seperate configuration. I wanna do my homework before, to avoid getting in a bind. Thanks alot, apprecieate any input.
