"Dodge" Dana 60 vs. "Ford" Dana 60 vs. "Ford" Dana 50 TTB
Hey guys, I'm working on trying to plan out a Cummins swap into my 86 F250HD. I am trying to figure out if I can use the "Dodge" Dana 60 under the donor truck, convert to "Ford" steering components, thus allowing me to use the Cummins, Dodge 5 speed (Getrag?) and transfer case, since the Ford uses a driver's side diff and the Dodge a passenger side diff? From what I've found the "Dodge" Dana 60 is slightly narrower track width than similar vintage "Ford" Dana 60's? I am wondrering if this is just steering knuckles etc and the main centers are the same? If so, once I convert the "Dodge" Dana 60 to Ford steering components, I should have the same track width of an early 90's "Ford" Kingpin Dana 60, correct? If that is the case, how do the "Ford" Dana 60 and Dana 50 TTB track widths compare?
Another option might be.... Do the 91 Dodge's use a divorced transfer case? If so, could I mate my current transfer case to the Dodge manual transmission, keep my D50TTB or swap in a "Ford" Dana 60 and keep the driver's side diff?
Sorry for the frantic post, but I'm in a time crunch to decide on purchasing the complete Dodge donor and I'm trying to determine my major costs in the swap. If I end up having to use adapters and run a later model Ford tranny, it obviously impacts my costs severly! Thanks!

Okay think I've got this figured out for my specific swap. Since my swap is coming from a manual cummins drivetrain, the NP205 mated to the Getrag provided the key. Ford also utilized the NP205, large bearing, allowing me to take the large bearing 29 spline input out of the Dodge NP205, swap into the Ford NP205 and use the existing factory adapter to link the getrag to my new Ford drop NP205 with Dodge splines.
