gauge options

I just ordered an egt and water temp gauge and I already have an air pressure gauge and boost pressure. I mounted the boost in the dash in that blank spot next to the warning lights. But I'm trying to figure out where to mount the rest. I really hate the piller pods out there. Does anyone have any pics of some other styles to give me ideas for building a custom gauge pod?

over head gauge pod.... they are made for a SD, but they fit in the OBS with a little trimming.

I'm working on some dash mounts. One will go right down in the corner above the headlight switch.
Then i'm going to work on another one that goes above the idiot lights.

I cannot stand pillars either.

I was thinking above the headlight switch too. It's going to be some fun shaping on the base of it but I can do it. What do you think sheetmetal or walnut? I've been doing the rest of the interior in walnut as I have time.

I'd like to see pics of what you have done so far (in walnut). That should look real sharp.

IMO you could easily splash the contour with some fiberglass or carbon cloth to get a perfect clean fit and shape the rest with sheet or even mold the rest with the material. Paint to desired color and be done. if your lay-up looks really clean you may even want to keep it unpainted.

All I've done so far is the shifter bezels on the floor and the long black strip on the passenger side of the dash. I'll post some pics when it is all done. I'm thinking about making my own front door panels too but not sure if I want to go there. I hate the locations of the arm rests and since mine is a centurian conversion I really hate the center console in the front too. That is about to go! New one will get a tv to keep the kids occupied, a big power converter and some real cup holders. Ones that hold my coffee mugs. I'm even thinking about moving the coffee pot out of the camper into there. Have to get it rigged for Alaska! That will be our next big road trip. well trail trip. All the way to Nome.

Mount you a couple of these on top of the dash above the headlight switch or on the steering column. I have one out in the shop for my scanguage, just haven't taken the time to mount it.

I thought about those myself Travis, but the profile on them is just really poor IMO.

They are great in certain spots however.
Thats one of the first idea's I went after when I started trying to figure this out.

On the dash no. Under the dash, they would look great.

I set mine up when I bought it to see how it'd look. Looks nice stuck up there beside the pillar IMO. They aren't very tall like your probably thinking. They sit pretty low. Plus, things can always be modified. I thought about getting a mustang 2 guage dash pod to see how it would fit the dash, I just haven't gotten around to getting my hands on one. I'm still going to roll with the cups up on the dash though.

or if you don't need the ash tray, remove it and build a custom 3 gauge pod in its place. Jim from Rosewood diesel posted a pic a while back, I'll find it if I can. It looked nice I thought. That is where I will be putting my next 3 gauges.
