i am just wondering what the best cheap yet quality mods are on this truck i have a newer 7.3 and know a lot about it, but dont know much about the obs? my brother just bought a 96 and wants to do intake exhaust and lift first. does the napa 6637 air filter work with these trucks? any recommendations
yessir, 6637 fits just nice, just need a 4"45° elbo to fit nice in there. he can look up the 10k mod if he would like, best way is to just buy a real customer tuner rather than 10k. free up the exhaust, 30$ goes a long way to open up that exhaust. lookup fpr bb shim to get that fuel pressure up if needed, 70lbs recommended, 55 is just fine, lower will need a shim. thats pretty much it for the cheepy stuff

Get aftermarket gauges first of any mod that increase HP:

Fixed it for ya.
Get gauges first, Then exhaust with an aftermarket downpipe, 6637 intake and then a chip. That should give him a nice little truck. After that it gets expensive fast.
