1976 F-250 Seat Replacement

Just inherited grandpa's 1976 F250 2WD pickup. . No rust and only 66k miles, so very nice truck.

We are turning it into a daily driver and as much as I would like to keep it original, we really need to make it safer for the long highway drives we will be doing.

We want to replace the original seat with a later model bench seat. Something with head rests and better ride and support. Something from a later model truck.

The questions is: What later model bench seats would bolt right up to the existing seat supports in this truck. Seat with head rests andthat we can use the existing seat belts?

From all the threads everyone states that all 73-96 ford trucks have interchangeable seats bench, captains it will all work.

I put this bench seat I got for 80 bucks at the junk yard with no rips, no stains and firm support from a 1995 in my 1977. All you do is bolt the mounts from your old seat to the new one.The seat has holes in it for the seatbelts. No modifications. Took all of about 20 mins to swap seats. You can use seats up to 1996.
I put on a seat cover because i`m dirty half the time.

I put this seat in my 73

I had to do quite a bit of fabricating to make the existing bracket on seat to weld onto the stock adjustable track on my truck as the seat is a 2005 yukon middle seat with no adjustment back and fourth. It does flip the bottoms forward which is pretty sweet for storage and slides back and fourth now.

I installed one from a 1996 F150. Tan bench with fold-down armrest, and took all of 10 minutes to remove the old and install the new. I also bought a cupholder that clips to the front center of the seat bottom. This bench also has electric lumbar support, so I will run a power lead to it when I finish rewiring the truck.

I picked up a cheap universal cupholer that sits on the floor from autozone. It has 2 cup holders and a small storage thing in the middle. I set it on my hump right behind the 4 wheel shifter.Works like a charm. You can see it in the pic I posted.
