On-board computer chip
Disconnecting your battery will NOT cause your vehicle to shift any differently. The ECU in your vehicle is comparable to a PC hard drive. It remains idle when unplugge, but, does not lose any data stored in the hard drive. When repowered, the hard drive continues running the stored program. There is a file written into the Superchip to increase the fluid pressure by 20% in the tranny to improve the firmness of the shift.E-mail me for further explanation or info. ddracing@worldnet.att.net

I'm not sure about the shift points, but, I usually have to clean the throttle body on every vehicle that I disconnect the battery in order for the idle pattern to be normal so I can deliver the vehicle back to the person without them complaining of an unstable idle while the computer is relearning the vehicle/driver characteristics.
