I will try it but that would be to test the regulator right ? If so wouldn't it not run right all the time whether the chip was in or not

Its to test the overall fuel system. You have to do the simple basic tests before you start the chase on sensors and what not. It doesn't seem like it could be the issue but if we don't test it now you could waste a lot of time if for some dumb reason its the problem!

Could it possibly be in the go pedal? Maybe diablo increases voltage to it to make it more responsive and its just enough to cover up a dead spot? Just a wag.

That's what we thought too but the scanner showed the correct voltage.

Good point I will try that soon. What should the pressure be under a load? And where should I take the reading from ? .. on the regulator where I tested it at idle

Ok just checked the map line its as clean as a.whistle. defiantly not restricted at all

Spec is 40-70psi tested at the same place you tested at idle
