Winter tune up

I plan to do a bit of a winter tune up on my truck in the next week or so, and want to make sure I am not missing anything. The truck is a 5.4L and has 165k on it, and I plan to do the following:

Replace spark plugs
Replace PCV Valve
Replace Air Filter
Oil Change
Replace wiper blades

The truck has been running a little sluggish lately, so I am hoping these changes (apart from the wiper blades) will have it running a bit better. Is there anything else I can add to the list?

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply, I noticed that when replacing the fuel filter you need a special tool. Is that a requirement? The reason I ask is that I recently replaced the fuel filter on my other vehicle that said you had to use a special tool, but in reality you did not actually need it.

Yes, you need the tool. It can be a PITA even with the tool sometimes.

Great, I picked up a tool just in case (went out and picked up supplies just now). I figure better to have the tool than realize when I am home that I needed it.

The last fuel filter I changed was pretty simple, do the clips get stuck on these? or is it just simply more of a PITA?

I've never had a problem with the clips getting stuck. Fir some reason I struggle getting the tool to properly release the fitting. Its a little bit of a tight spot to work. Wear safety glasses, you don't want gas in your eyes.

Pull the fuel pump fuse and start the truck to relieve the pressure when you do it. My fuel line has been so hard to release I had to have a shop do it twice now.

Depending on when it was done last I'd also flush the coolant and replace the diff oils and transfer case fluid.

It would also be a good time to load test your battery and clean the cables.
