Still working on swapping the 302 out of my '77 F100 with a 460. I have the engine and trans ready to drop in, but I'm having a hard time finding the frame towers for a 460 that will bolt on the frame. But the question I have now is does anyone have or know where I can find a diagram for the fuse box of the '77 F100. I'm trying to replace a few fuses, but I dont what all the fuses are running. I've searched the internet and have'nt had any luck.

I know this thread is plenty old, but I'm working with the same fuse box illustrated above, and I'm trying to get my dome light working. My box was missing the fuse in the #7 spot. The diagram says it needs a 15 amp fuse, and thats what I tried to put in, but it doesn't fit. It's about a 1/16 of an inch too long and I can't get it in there for the life of me. I suspect thats why the PO didn't have one in there also. Has anyone else run into this problem?

 

There are different lengths of 15A fuses. take the one thats too long into the parts house and have em find the next shorter style.

 

1973/79 F100/350 15 amp dome lamp fuse industry (autoparts store) numbers. The number is marked on the fuse itself.

1973/77 F100/350: AGW-15 or 7AG-15 / .88" long.

1978/79 F100/350: 1AG-15 / .62" long.

The fuse i bought was the AGW-15 or 7AG-15. Thats the one that is too long.

After further research and the help from the good people here on this site I have determined that i need the 1AG-15.

Unfortunatly none of the parts store that I was able to get to last night here in my area carry that particular style. Of course is was later in the evening so i was only able to get to the Oreily, and autozone places. Tomorrow I'll hit up some of the locally owned stores.

 

i dont understand the autozone one but the pictures steponit posted look easy for me but i dont have a fuse on my number 1 either but i tested the slot and one side is live could this be my cruse control i have a 1977 f100 custom 302 v8 c4 tranny if i need it what size is it meant to be?

 

Cruise (speed) Control should run off fuse number 10. It's 20 amp.

 

I gave up trying to find those oddball out of date fuses, so below was my solution. The circuit breaker panel is the same dimensions as the old fuse panel and bolts right in using existing screw mounting holes. I was rewiring the truck anyway so the installation of this circuit breaker panel was an easy project. Another simpler solution would be to solder in the ATC inline fuse holders. That way you can use modern fuses. I did have to install one inline fuseholder for F2 as they don't make a 2 amp circuit breaker.
