Low coolant light

Low coolant light
Recently while tooling down the interstate the low coolant warning light popped on. I pulled over to check, but the coolant in the reservoir was right where it was supposed to be. ten miles later, the light went out.
I added a bit more coolant mixture to the reservoir when I got home and everything was fine until a day or so ago when the light came on again. when I started up the next morning the light was off.
What gives? Is it a faulty sensor? There are no leaks and the reservoir level is fine.

A truck that I worked on before retiring was bad for low coolant light comming on also and found out if you would remove it and just clean it with a Scotch brite pad and reinstall it it would cure the problem it would some corrosion on it . This did not happen until it was a few years old and your Escape fits this criteria I think it would be trying to clean it.

There was an issue with this on another forum.
If you look at the coolant resevoir I believe there are air pockets that can develop. I pulled mine out and cleaned the entire resevoir.
Then when I put it back in, I actually installed the coolant a little low and made sure it was all down in the various chambers of the resevoir... as some times a small chamber would just have air in it.
I did this by hooking it back up to the hoses, but not yet mounting the resevoir under the hood. Slightly filled it and made sure the coolant was all the way down in the resevoir. Continued to fill it just under the mark.
That truck has 180,000 miles on it now and does not have this issue. It popped up for me at about 110,000 and I fixed it in probably 2-3k of that timeframe..
Hopefully that helps that was back in 2005 or so when I did this so its a bit vague.

Interesting fix. Come a warm afternoon I may try this.
I am trying to figure out if the light coming on has anything to do with making a hard turn or traveling an incline. However, it seems more random than anything. The first time it came on I was two hours out on the interstate on a flat stretch.
