Thank you for your detailed post. I noticed that the motor mounts seem really easy to get to if you unbolt them at the frame...rather then splitting them in half or un bolting at the motor...anyone else try this?

I managed to just unbolt the mounts from the crossmember. It seemed the easiest way to do it.

That is how I was planning on doing it.
Here are photos of the replacment motor at the machine shop. Torn down and inspected. Block is good, no cracks or anything. The cyls are JUST with-in tolerance...and you can still see the hone marks. It going to be bored over .030 to besure everything is perfect. The cranks is going to be ground down .010...I am willing to be the guy who had the motor used too thick of oil in it...starved the bottom end b/c the top end seems just fine. The heads are good to go..no major machining work needs to be done. Said the cyl all look to be firing correctly as well.
I just stopped into the machine shop to talk to the guy and noticed they had a new PI 5.4 sitting there with an old core waiting to go ito another 250.....I might be getting the cam shafts from that core PI motor... and I am also having him mildly port the intake and gasket match things.

agreed easyer by the frame bolts, did it with the V10 and V8
While I am in there and puttin in a new motor I will be replacing things like all the coils, Fuel Pump, any and all filters, I want to send the fuel injectors to be cleaned etc. Are there other sensors or solenoids that tend to go bad with time more then others that would be wise to replace now?
Kinda I do it now before I have to do it later type thing.
I replaced everything from the knock sensor, which is under the intake, to the oil pressure sensor and the heater hoses. Also the IAC and TPS I am also replacing the starter and power steering pump, idler pulleys, belt tensioner. It all add up however, I probably have more money in sensors and accessories than I do in the engine. I also replace my torque converter since it is sitting there in the open.
