Loud Clicking in sync with engine on 98 Windstar 3.8
I just replaced the head gaskets on my 98 Windstar 3.8; got everything back together with no extra parts, but when I start the engine, there is a loud clicking in the front head. It's louder than I would expect a compressed lifter to make. Where can I start looking for the noise without taking the head completely off or having my head explode?

Hi and welcome to FTE!
First thing I'd do is pull the valve cover and check for a problem underneath it.
Can you feel anything contacting the valve cover while the engine is running if you put your hand on the valve cover or put a screwdriver tip pressed against the valve cover?
There have been cases of broken rocker arms. Not a bunch but enough to make it something to consider.
Please let us know what you find.
Thanks!
