Question Side Cover Gasket?

I have a '90 F150, inline 6, I have the oil leak from hell, I had the rear main replaced with the clitch and still have a leak. After much investigation I found a cover on the side of the engine behind the destributor the entire length of the engine. This is the source of the leak. I cannot find this on my DIY sites or my hanes manual. I need a gasket for this, but do not want to sound like an idiot when I call the dealer. Anyone have the description of this gasket? I figure if I shound like an idiot here it will pass.

My garage floor can't take any more oil saturation.

Side Cover Gasket?

My Ford manual calls it a pushrod cover gasket.

Yeah, i had a horrible leak too, i thought it was the pan gasket so i replaced it and the pan, still a horible leak. Pulled the pan again and replace the gasket again, still leaking. It was a nightmare, finnaly foud that liftergalley cover was spewing oil.

My 83 block had a casting flaw in one corner of that gasket seat - it was like some of the iron had been ground down there, but it was obviously cast that way. I bent the cover lip down to match and added some silicone.

I must thank all of you for your replys. I changed the gasket and the rubber bolt boots and it worked like a champ. No so much as a drop has fallen in 24 hours. Now that the engine has had a chance to drip off. I shall fo the cardbord test when I get home tonight.

Again, Thank you.

Jim
