Pettecote Junction is a pretty nice camp ground. It is not really east but it is north. The campground is right along Pine Creek river. And is also at the base of the PA Grand Canyon. Here is there web site. www.pettecotejunction.com

Promised Land state park has some terrific rustic cabins- electricity, stove, fridge, with shared toilets actually one shower/toilet for each cabin a 30 second walk from the cabin and great campgrounds for tenting and rv's/pull behinds. The season is coming to a close on the cabins and I don't know how long the other campgrounds are open. Great place to hike, fish, relax. I was just there two weeks ago in the cabins for three days with my son while my wife was out of town. We spend at least one week there every year. Lackawanna State Park has some tent and rv sites as well as a couple of yurts. Good luck, Keystonepaul

Pettecote Junction is nice, but it only has 24 open sites. The rest are seasonal. You must call ahead for reservations. Also Sandy Bencus is a Ford nut.
