6.2L SLOW ?
Just curious guys I own a 06 F250 3v V10 4.10's crewcab Lariat , but I keep seeing the new 6.2L is slow as hell from all these sites an books ? Did Ford make another 5.4L ? I know I use my TRUCK for Loads an Off Road things but I do LIKE Power an QUICKNESS . 0-60 an 1/4 mile is not everything but , I keep seeing this 6.2L lose in the 0-60/-1/4 against the (GM 2500HD 6.0L 360hp/380TQ 0-60 7.9 sec-1/4 16.2@ 84.1mph), (DODGE 2500HD 5.7L 383HP/400TQ 0-60 7.8 sec- 1/4 16.2@ 84.1 mph), (Ford F250HD 6.2L 385HP/405TQ 0-60 9.2 sec- 1/4 16.8@ 84.2mph) <-----> these #'s are from the TRUCK TREND Mag Nov/Dec issue ? Pickuptrucks.com #'s<----> (GM 2500HD 360hp/380TQ 4.10's 6speed 0-60 10.4 sec- 1/4 17.9@ 81.38mph) , (DODGE 2500 HD 383HP/400TQ 4.10's 5speed 0-60 8.7 sec- 1/4 16.9@ 83.87mph), (Ford F250HD 385HP/405TQ 4.30's 6speed 0-60 9.8 sec- 1/4 17.5@ 84.38mph) . Just kinda Odd to see such Different #'s from 2 different sites . I have never done a 0-60 or 1/4 in my 3v V10 crewcab before kinda curious what #'s it gets . from what I see there calling this new 6.2L a slug like the old 5.4L . Any of you new owners of this 6.2L got some Real WORLD #'s ? I know the CURB WEIGHT is owned by the Fords lol .

The Ford is nearly 1000 lbs heavier than the chev.
Notice how the Ford is moving faster at the end of the quarter. But as an owner of a 2010 6.8 I can't help but wonder why you would even post a question like this concerning a few 10ths in the quater mile. Who buys a trucks like this to race to the next stoplight?
If you really like power and quickness your driving the wrong vehicle......

I dropped this line of thinking in my 20's. Now I save my competative instincts for things that matter, not the privilage of being the first to get to a red light.

It's a truck, not a race car.
My line of thinking is that the other guy can't win regardless of what he's driving. In my truck I simply wont run, on my bike he wouldn't stand a chance...

I'm not trying to come off like an ***, but who buys a 7,000 lb heavy duty pickup truck to race with? Seriously?

I know red light to red light is kid stuff but you have to admit . You want something that has some quickness . And I know its a SLUG lol . I just hate seeing the times are so SLOW for the FORD HD TRUCKS , as for the new F150 5.0 6.2L an the 3.5EB are very Quick from the times I ve seen .

I get what you're saying, Reaver, but you have to remember that the SDs are made with a different focus from a half ton.
F150s are made to do amazing things, but they also have to be able to be comfortable daily drivers with good road manners and fuel economy. These trucks are over a thousand pounds lighter than our SDs, have far better handling, and can have even more power than a super duty.
It all comes down to power to weight, and the more weight you are trying to move the harder it is to get it to go fast.
My 8,000 lb, 400 HP Super Duty can't even beat a V6 Mustang. My 500 lb, 165 HP motorcycle is quicker through the quarter mile than a 1,600 HP Bugatti Veyron.
If you want a fast truck, see about stuffing that 6.2L engine into a Ranger or something...
