123 days today! could this be it?

Dealer called me today.
I thought he was someone else at first.
I thought he said my truck was being shipped!
I thought I heard him say it already shipped!
Then I was speechless and I said What?
I thought he said my truck was at the distribution yard!
You must be calling for someone else, You see I'm the guy that orders trucks and then waits for them not to come, You see I've been burned before so I'm not falling for this one,
Then I thought I heard him ask me how soon I wanted to pick the truck up!
What I said? did you say what, I excuse me but I'm a little shaken and I don't know what to say at this point except that if your serious then I will take the truck as soon as you finish your prep.
Then I thought he said I may call you this afternoon!
But like some cheap one night bar gig, he didn't call.
So we shall see what tommorow brings.
gallery soon

franklin-

we're startin to worry about you buddy! are you o.k?
i am worried that by the time your truck arrives you won't be able to drive it b/c you're arms will be bound behind you in a white jacket w/ straps - if you know what i mean?

in all seriousness...any word on completion/shipping/delivery?

Yeah no S***
I knew it was to good to be true.
Dealer just called me.
Hey Dave this is Norm:
My old buddy Norm!
Well I don't think I'm your buddy anymore, in fact your gonna hate me when I tell you this one.
naw Norm I won't hate you, what is it?
You know that truck I told you was yours yesterday?
Yeah is it here?
Well it's yours alright, but it's the first one you ordered and doesn't have the moonrooof!
Anyway I put a trace on the new truck and I'm really sorry.
Thanks Norm for calling and letting me know I hope the new truck will be right behind the other one.
Oh and one more thing Norm!
I f****** hate you.

The Fava beans are on the way.
I'm still looking for a good Chianti.
I'm a tawny port man myself and drink very little Chianti,
although i have had a good Gabiano Classico a couple times if that would do.

Franklin,

I came across your post. I want to buy an '03 F150 SuperCrew. Even though the dealer has about 150 S-Crews on his lot, they don't have the options I want:
5.4L
Tow Package
Lim Slip
Moonroof
Bench Seats

They offered to order one for me.

Do you think I might encounter the same problems with a F150 special order (volumes on F250s might have some effect on your truck)?

Also, the price I pay is fixed at invoice minus $$$ minus rebates in force when the truck arrives. The deals are great today (and should go up about $500 in March), but my wife is concerned they may not be so good by the time the truck arrives (they said 6-8 weeks).

Your opinion?

Whoops. I guess I misread you post. One of the people that replied has the F250, not you.

What style truck did you order?

I ordered F250 with everything on it.
I have heard of people getting them pretty quickly.
I would recommend that if what you want is not available on the lot and the dealer can't find it on another lot then you should seriously consider ordering it. If you want what you want and that's the only way to get it then do it. But be ready to excercise all of your patience and then some.
If it wasn't for the folks I met on this website I probably would have settled for something less than I wanted a long time ago.
My truck will be here anyday now!
I can feel it!

Franklin,

Thanks. I'm leaning towards ordering but will need to convince the wife to wait and the dealer to lock in the rebate.

We'll see what happens to Ford rebates today.

Thanks for checking up on me Al.
No such luck, It's been 144 hours since the dealer told me he was running another 72 hour trace.
I still can't understand how they figure that one?
It must be the 72 hours that is most near the actual hour that the vehicle is located? grenwich Mean Time or something.
I'll sure get it posted the minute I get it though.
Stay tuned!!

New truck smell good!
Now I need to figure out how to get my gallery up and running!
tips welcome.
I got a great digital camera.
I even know how to use it.

Does that mean it's finally in your hands? Shoulda come with a big bow and a bottle of champagne.

The gallery posting thing is actually quite simple.............take your pix, save them somewhere on your computer..............Click "Add to Gallery"...........then update your new gallery. Even I could do it.
