Anyone know where the fuel tank straps (or any parts) for the plastic midship tank can be found? After some looking it seems that these tanks are pretty rare and most places don't even have a listing for them. And the straps and tank itself are discontinued from Ford is what I was told by the dealer.

Thanks man but I checked LMC as well as other similar places and nobody lists any parts for the front 23 gal plastic tank some of these trucks came with. Guess Ford didn't really build trucks with this tank...I must just have a one of a kind with a Ford part number molded into it...

Owner's manual for the 96's doesn't show a 23 gal front tank, just the 19 (20) gallon tanks, for the 250 & ups. Did the part number show as having a 23 gal capacity?

As far as replacements, you can get them at advanced and at rockauto (I've touched the steel ones but don't know about the plastic options in the aftermarket). Both carry the standard hardware, too.

Shouldn't be too hard to fab up a pair of straps if you need to.

RockAuto dont have anything. I looked. I know everyone lists 16s and 19s. But the 23 gal plastic is out there on some of these trucks and Ford parts centers has the listings for it, they just no longer make/carry the parts. I don't know how it was determined which trucks got them but whatever the case my truck does and im sure several others on here do to. If I cant find anything I can and will make some straps up but I figured I'd take the easy way out and see if I could find a place to buy some.

 

I think it was a single cab long bed only option... if I remember right
