best thing in the world for this... have the donor truck near by. that way you can look and take at the same time, no guess work.

You'll need all of the engine harness, dash harness and gauge cluster, IDM, PCM, all sensors, tranny harness, and you'll need to swap the rear axle from the Powerstroke into it with the Vehicle Speed Sensor hooked up for your speedo to work.

earthresin, I know what your saying. I have a 80 f250 4by4 in perfect condition with a 302 that doesn't run. I also have toyed with the idea of a swap. I've read on here that same question for six years now and the majority of the answers to your question is: its a lot of work and you would be better off just buying a truck with a PSD in it already. Yes, it can be done and if I may quote you, "but one way or another ima get it done", that's the only way you'll get it done-ambition and never taking no for an answer!!

You tell them George!! I once did a transplant that took me 10 months to complete. It really was worth it.

If you have a donor truck with everything in it then i say the worst part is going to be mounting the engine and trans the rest should be pretty easy

Dont forget Ethan, the accellerator pedal will be needed from the PS as well.. Its sensor operated!

Glenn.. Thats the truth behind it! My project was a little long going, and would have been done sooner had the heat not come on so soon, LOL, but its worth it, and really when you look at it one thing at a time, is not that much work!

I say go for it and do it! I seen a PS put in one before, and it takes just a little craftyness!

There's one member here who has done this swap into a 70's F350 already, and Jesse (thetowingcowboy) is currently doing this swap.
