Question E4OD Tranny Slips and SMOKE!

My 91 5.8 351W is great! But recently the transmission started slipping while in Drive, however it works just fine in 2. Once it gets going, I put it into D and it works just fine. However, everytime I stop I have to do this process again.

Not sure if this is a torque converter issue or what?

When this issue appeared, I bought some of that LUCAS AT repair fluid (the one that says is stops slips and rough changes). This seemed to work a little, but I noticed that once on the Highway for about 20 minutes I have a white smoke coming from the hood! Dont know if this is some of the LUCAS magic juice burning off that I spilled (only about an onve or two), or if this is a completely unrelated issue. All guages read good and no check engine light appears.

Thanks for any advice.

you need to figure out where the smoke is coming from. you could have a major issue. i would also change the tranny fluid and filter.

that tranny can run 1800-3500 to replace.
