No intermittent wiper or slow speed

88 f150. Just bought the truck and it didn't have a **** on the wipers. Dash mounted switch. The switch wil turn both ways from the off position. clockwise does nothing on the first click. 2nd click is high spd and the only setting that works. from the off position I can also turn the **** counter clockwise. That also does nothing. I am thinking that the ccw side is the intermittent function and that the first cw setting is a low setting. The washer works but does not move the wipers. After my searches I think that it sounds like I have a bad governor, if I do have the intermittent function. This is my first ford of this vintage so I am completely unfamiliar with how the wiper switch is supposed to function properly. Any help would be great. If it does sound like the governor, then where might I find it. I think it might be next to my fuse box. thanks in advance, Joe

This is a common problem.
You need the intermittent wiper governor module that plugs between the switch and harness. (or you can try resoldering the leads inside this expensive little box)

On my '87 it is mounted on a metal arm attached over by the parking brake.
The wipers don't move with the 'push for washers' function.
Turning it left increases the duration between wipes.

Thanks men. It took longer to get the box out than it did to drive across town, buy a new soldering iron, fix the box and reinstall it.
