99 Ranger 120,000
99 Ranger supercab 4.0 ohv. auto 4wd flareside bed. My 24 year old son just purchased about a month ago. This is the only the 2nd ford in the family. Only 120,000 on her. In really good shape for the year. Here in Ohio's rust belt they usually look a lot worse at this age. He has always wanted a small truck. When his last two vehicles gave up the ghost we went looking for a truck. Happened to find this for him on craigslist. Ran to the car lot the next morning, fell in love and drove her home. Now I,m looking for another for myself. As my handle suggest my family has always owned some sort of Chrysler product. To bad they do make a truck worth a dam. I remember my 1984 full size dodge and what a piece of crap that it was. Since I do all the mechanic work for the family I didn't want my son going down that road. We all want something better for our children and at this point its a ford. Son previously owned a 1998 ford Taurus with well over 250,000 on the clock. I did a lot of work on it over the years and it was easy to work on. As far as I know if it didn't completely rust in half that Taurus is still on the road. Will keep you all posted as to when I find my own ford truck I can't live without. Wife for sale will trade for low millage f150 or older ranger. LOL

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger v6 4.0 Automatic and its a real cutie Although I had to do some repairs on her. Bought her a little over a year ago for a cheap price with 159,000 miles, and I have 161,000 on her right now. Ive changed the fuel pump, rear leaf shackles, brakes, alternator, starter, and sparkplugs. Shes a pretty clean truck now but I fear that the transmission or the timing belt might be going. The transmission was a rebuilt but it was a late 1995 rebult so... Ive been slipping into gears or I get a thud/kick back when I speed up really quickly then quickly take my foot off the gas.
I plan on keeping her till she dies, hopfully she serves me for the end of this year and hopfully next year. *fingers crossed*

On my 94 the trans would start acting up a little and I would change the fluid and then it would be fine.
I started changing the trans fluid every two years and it never skipped a beat after that...

I have 319,950 on my 94 4.0 SC. Transmission has been biggest problem as the original owner ran it dry and I had to have it rebuilt. 65000 on it when we bought. OD went out at around 100000. have done several clutches due to bad slave/master combos. Clutches had been good, just R&R for GP's when all disassembled. 2 radiators over time due to leaky side tanks.
Overall a very good little truck. Upgraded it with Power seats, windows and mirrors.

just hit 225,000 on my 1994 ranger, but it will be racking up the miles pretty fast now, my new job is 32 miles away or 64 miles round trip, 21 year old truck still doing 28MPG on the original motor, clutch rebuilt twice, tranny once, everything else replaced at least once and most needing a second replacement, airconditioning totally removed.
2005 Range 4X4 with 4 liter still runs good but lots of worrisome little leaks and noises requiring constant attention.
My father only owned fords his whole life, after buying a ranger 4x4 with a 3.0 v6 in it he hated it so bad he biught an S-10, looking through the list I don't see many 3.0 V6
Good luck to all

I had a '91 2wd 3.0 5 speed that I sold to my brother in '06. I still help him on repairs when it needs it. It (as near as we can tell) has about 350,000 miles on it now and is beat to crap but keeps on ticking. My "New" Ranger that I bought 3 weeks ago has 220,000 miles. It's a '99 4x4 3.0 5 speed. I just finished up putting a long block in it. I suspected the motor was on its last leg when I bought it. I bought it cheap enough that there was room for a new motor. It should run a long time now.
