I'm up to 339800 miles on my 95 2.3l. No engine work. Replace radiator, clutch, cat, and slave cyclinder between 220000-230000 miles, atlernator at 280000 miles. Otherwise, sparkplugs, wires, timing belts at around 100k miles with oil changes between 5000-6000 miles. Drive it 115 miles roundtrip everyday to work. Only been in the shop once, the rest of the work I did myself.

WOW! I thought my '95 2.3 with 136K on it was a lot of miles. Geez, that's break in miles compared to yours! I am just curious, how bad was your timing belt looking the 1st time you changed it. I haven't had mine done yet, and I know I need to, but I was curious how bad they get tore up.

Are you in Panhandle area? I am in Centrl FL. With your mileage, you should get a FREE Ranger from Ford. That is how Honda did to some of its customers for logging up such high staggering mileage. You think you will make 400k?

191000 miles on my 99 single cab short bed Range. Replaced original 4 banger and second tranny with a 2003 3.0 with 5 speed auto about 15000 miles ago. Motor and trans have about 55000 miles on them.

1988 Ranger XLC

My 1988 ranger has just over 88,000 original miles on a 2.9L. So far I replaced the auto transmission (original was a bad design in '88), fuel pump/sending unit, valve cover gaskets, heater core, and need to replace the interior grab handles and dash cover. The exterior is Black with Silver accent, interior is Maroon and is in excellent condition.

My 1991 2WD ext cab 3.0 L 5 spd. 192K no engine work except for belts hoses plugs etc... regular maint items, 2 clutches and no trans work - change trans fluid every 20K miles and engine oil every 3K miles. Averages 20-22 mpg city / highway combined. The 97 4X4 ext cab 4.0 L 5 A/T 115K, no major engine or trans work since I purchased with 68K miles in Dec 2000. Change engine oil every 3K miles and trans fluid once around 100K miles. Averages 15-18 mpg city / highway combined. Pictures of both trucks in my gallery. -Ed
