Matthew, the leak in the right side, make sure it isn't coming in through the air box on that side. Mine was never sealed completely in that area. It is a royal PITA to see, I have a bore scope I used for it. I primed the area after cleaning then sprayed the undercoating on. This was recommended by a good friend who owns a MAACO shop.

I spent hours chasing & trying to identify an ignition fault that would heat & fail/cool & run/heat & fail etc.

It got progressively worse over two weeks, beginning as a barely noticeable 'engine starting on key-release' condition; to consistently cutting out on the road & taking an hour for a restart.
Every part swap seemed to fix the problem for 30 minutes but didn't last; & the heat-failure aspect led me off chasing ghosts.

Anyway, the moral of the story is check your coil horseshoe connector!
I had wriggled the primary coil wires previously with no change in idle, but during one 'cool-off' period in half-light, my son saw a small arc from one terminal as I switched the key off.
The wiring was fine, but the horseshoe connector itself was faulty; an easy & cheap fix - eventually

On the positive side, during all this I installed a new vacuum advance after a previous owner had removed the original to conceal a DSII conversion. My engine vacuum has lifted 4" at cruise, so I'm hoping for a couple of free mpg's!

Today I had to put some new tires on the front because I grenaded a left outboard dual coming back from WV. I was doing 70 on the Salisbury MD bypass when "BLAM" followed by "slap slap slap" until I pulled off and stopped. Luckily there was no fender damage, the nicely reinforced rear running board mount prevented that.

I went up to Shore Tire and Auto in Onley and bought a pair of Firestone Transforce tires and went ahead and had them mounted and balanced on the front Ford/Alcoa rims.

I've got a few cans of the "flex seal" stuff.

I know where it's coming from on the right hand side. Just to the left of the heater box in the corner where the big chunk of seam sealer sits, it comes in through there. I've done the same thing you did. Sit in the truck in a downpour and look where it comes in from. It leaks in to the air box then splatters and leaks through my floor vent and runs down the side of the floor.

That's right, you don't have AC on yours. You might want to pull the back edge of the right fender loose and check the drain, mine was full of decomposed leaves and plugged.

I cleaned those out one day while I had half the interior apart. OH BOY was that disgusting smelling. It almost looked like an old mouse nest or something. I cleaned it out as well as I could by hand then hosed the rest out. Did the same for the drivers side. Well, I did the drivers side after it all flew up in my face doing 60 MPH.

Just had some guy knock on my front door, trying to buy my truck. I was in the basement and didn't hear the doorbell, but my wife is well-trained; she explained to the man that it was my grandfather's last truck, and that the terms of my ownership include maintaining it in running order as long as my grandmother is alive, etc etc. Apparently the would-be buyer is a handyman who really likes this generation of trucks, "but nobody seems to want to sell them."

Matthew, Bill means the drains inside the fenders, not the kick vents inside the truck.

Ahh, didn't know they had vents in the fenders! I'll have to check those out.

Drains
The water runs down each side and comes out at the bottom behind the wheel wells.

OH those. I remember cleaning the drivers side one out when I cleaned out my drivers side air box for the floor vent. I was able to get to it by peeling pack the plastic fender well. It was pretty plugged up. At least that's what I remember. I'll add that to the list. Free projects anyways lol.
