TRUCK YOU! Two 1950s Dump Trucks and a 2006 Super Duty
The beauty of classic Ford trucks is something to be greatly admired, as many of us know. Still, they are few and far between in 2015, and seeing one cruising down the street can generate mixed feelings in many.
After all, many of these rides are becoming fewer and fewer every year, and seeing another may only remind someone of their growing rarity. However, it is not a bad thing that these rides are growing old. Their value is rising, they appear more and more unique, and they are more loved with each passing decade.
FTE member Chris (A.K.A. “Chris 56 f6“) is the proud owner of several of these antique rigs, more specifically from the 1950s, though his are even more uncommon than the regular rides from the period. This is because these are not your regular pickup trucks — these are dump trucks!
Now, we know that the yellow rig pictured above doesn’t look like a dump truck. It also doesn’t look like it’s from the 1950s. You would be right in regards to both of these things.
In fact, this truck is a 2006 Super Duty that is filling the role of pulling the trailer that hauls the other rigs that Chris owns. Though clearly a fan of classic Ford trucks, he clearly also has an appreciation for the more modern creations that have hit the market. And the yellow Ford seems to be doing an excellent job!
The rides that this canary pulls include a 1952 F6 dump truck and a 1950 F5 dump truck, though Chris owns a few other rigs as well!
Everyone has to love the antique Ford rides that are so few and far between in our day. That’s not say that we shouldn’t appreciate modern machines, but rather that we should have some degree of reverence for what came before.
