TRUCK YOU! A 1978 F-250 Custom SuperCab Project
We’ve all had our moments where we have simply fallen in love with a ride. For some, that may be their current daily driver that they pamper regularly with synthetic oil and premium gasoline.
For others, they stumble across that beautiful ride while they already have a wonderful rig. Seeing trucks as amazing as these often make one see through rose-colored glasses, or maybe they just don’t care.
For that perfect ride it is worth taking on a project, isn’t it?
FTE member 19-F250-78 spends his days making stringed instruments (such as guitars and violins) and is the proud owner of Juntunen Guitars. He also drives a 1978 F-250 Ranger daily, and loves every moment of it.
However, he came across another irresistible ride and did what many Ford truck enthusiasts would opt to do: He bought it.
Now he is not only the proud owner of a wonderful ’78 Ranger, but also has a 1978 F-250 Custom SuperCab project in the works!
Now, when he picked up the rig it definitely wasn’t perfect. It was spewing oil — and just about every other fluid — and was in desperate need of attention.
That has since been fixed. The ride has a 460 cubic inch engine and C6 automatic transmission. It is currently undergoing a restoration and soon will be back to its former glory!
The truck also has an Edelbrock carburetor, bucket seats from a 1995 F-150, 16.5″ wheels, and 33″ mud tires. When complete this F-250 will no longer be yellow and brown, but instead blue and silver.
Feel free to check out his build in more detail.
19-F250-78 certainly picked up one glorious truck, and it seems to be in good hands. Every year there are fewer and fewer of these old classics left, so it is definitely a welcome sight when someone opts to restore one to its former beauty.
