RANCHO INTRODUCES NEW MAX TRAVELâ„¢ SHOCKS FROM BUILT SPECIFICALLY FOR TORSION BAR LEVELING KITS

By -

Rancho Suspension ““ a leader in suspension and shock technologies for trucks, SUVs and other vehicles ““ has announced nine new maximum travel shocks, built specifically for use with torsion bar leveling kits. The shocks will be available in March 2010.

Headquartered in Long Beach, Calif., Rancho Suspension is manufactured and marketed by Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN).
“Torsion bar leveling kits, designed to deliver clearance for taller tires and front-to-rear vehicle leveling, often leave the vehicle owner in need of longer-than-stock shocks,” said Joe Pase, director, performance brands, Tenneco. “Rancho saw the opportunity to deliver a true performance enhancement to the enthusiasts looking for top-notch performance and an easy installation after installing a torsion bar leveling kit.”

The new maximum travel shocks utilize RS5000 shock technology ““ an extremely popular design worldwide ““ and are packaged in extended lengths to fit the required length needed after the installation of up to a 2 ½-in. torsion bar leveling kit, providing enhanced suspension travel and a proper fit. The new shocks are specifically tuned to accommodate up to 35-in. tires, enhancing ride quality and performance over OE shocks.

The extended lengths include coverage of popular 1988 and newer Chevy, 2002-05 Dodge, 1997 and newer Ford, 1988 and newer GMC, 2003-08 Hummer, 1998-2005 Mazda truck and SUV models.

Ensuring performance either on- or off-road, the new maximum travel shocks from Rancho combine a twin-tube cellular gas design with 10-stage velocity sensitive valving. The new shocks feature a 1 3/8-in. diameter piston* and 5/8-in. diameter piston rod* for added strength. Every maximum travel shock includes a protective boot. Each unit is covered by Rancho’s limited lifetime warranty.
