2014 Transit Connect and 2015 Transit Recalls
It’s pretty much a given that within new models there will be recalls. Even 2015 pre-launch vehicles are not immune to it, thanks to the recall of the 2015 Ford Mustang.
Now the 2014 Transit Connect and 2015 Transit are both facing some recalls, so you better get to your Ford Dealer to take care of them as soon as possible.
First up is the Transit Connect; there is a safety recall for 27,600 of the 2014 model that was manufactured with the 2.5-liter engine at the Valencia Assembly Plant between August 1st, 2013 and July 10th, 2014.
There is a potentially incorrect fuel and vapor line routing that may cause them to rub together creating a leak at the fuel line over time and a possible fire. So far there have been no reports of this yet and the repair is done with no cost to the customer.
The Transit has a smaller recall notice, with only 92 vehicles, over a bracket that holds the fuel filter to the frame. It could become detached over time and create a knocking sound, fuel starvation, and could cause an accident when it does stall.
This affects the 2015 Transit with the 3.2-liter diesel engine built at the Kansas City Assembly Plant manufactured from July 28th, 2014 to August 7th, 2014. There are about 89 vehicles in the U.S. and about three in Canada and, again, the repair will be at no cost to the customers. There are also no reports of injuries or accidents due to this.
