Intimidation Factor

There's no denying the fact that Ford's Bronco has enjoyed a massive surge in popularity recently. But of course, we've always been huge fans of the rough and tumble utility vehicle. Especially when they look as downright menacing as this wild, lifted '86 Bronco we spotted for sale over at Gateway Classic Cars.

We Mean Lifted

Now when we say "lifted," that can mean a lot of things. Most trucks these days are merely leveled, or maybe fitted with a four or six-inch suspension lift. This Bronco, however, casts its shadow over all of them (literally) with a massive lift and huge 44-inch Super Swamper tires.

Mud Slinger

The results of that work are no doubt impressive. And as a result, you're bound to draw stares of admiration everywhere you drive this bad Bronco. It's also easily capable of slinging some serious mud if you dare get it dirty.

Keep It Original

We're also loving the fact that the previous owner/builder of the Bronco kept its classic handsome looks intact. The blue and white two-tone paint looks fantastic, as does all of the original chrome and trim pieces.

Riding High

There are a couple of appearance mods, but nothing too crazy. Just some modest fender flares and a bull bar up front. We're not exactly sure what the latter is going to protect your from, however. Perhaps if you're afraid of running into a giraffe or elephant?

Mix and Match

On the inside, it's much more of the same. A lot of clean factory pieces, including the cloth seats and fake wood-trimmed dash, mated with tasteful upgrades including an aftermarket steering wheel, gauges, and shifter.

Blue Beauty

The blue interior is in fantastic condition, much like the rest of the Bronco. No word on whether the upholstery is new or original, but either way, it doesn't get much cleaner. Interestingly, somebody threw a GM TH400 transmission in this beast, but the rest of the drivetrain is all Ford.

Ford Power

That includes the rather large 460 V8 under the hood. No word on mods, but we can spy headers, an aftermarket intake (and likely carb), along with a few dress-up bits. You know, the usual array of parts we see on these older trucks.

No Aftertaste

Looking underneath this Bronco doesn't require bending over, much less laying on your back. And that means your undercarriage better be clean. This one most certainly is, looking clean enough to eat a meal off of without getting any of that nasty greasy aftertaste.

Gimme Some Love

This high-rolling Bronco is most certainly one of the nicest all-around examples we've seen in some time. Bullnoses might not get as much love as the prior and later gens, but we'd be more than happy to rock this big Ford any day of the week!
