Top 10 OEM Ford Truck & SUV Tires!
A truck is only as good as the tire it rides on, and we rank the ten best that Ford currently fits to its trucks and SUVs.
Intro
A truck or an SUV can have the most powerful engine and the greatest suspension ,but it all means nothing if the vehicle has a lousy set of tires. The only part of a truck that touches the ground is the tire, and their importance cannot be overstated. If you put a set of racing slicks on your Bronco, you won’t be getting very far when the snow starts to fly. On the other hand, a set of aggressive mud terrain tires might be perfect for the muddy trail but on the road, you will deal with increased road noise, worse fuel economy and squirmy handling.
With the importance of tires understood we are ranking the 10 best tires that Ford puts on their trucks and SUVs. In our ranking list we include the model of the tire along with the model vehicle that they are typically found on. Some tires are used on multiple vehicles and some vehicles may not always get the listed tire as standard equipment. This is how we rank the ten best OEM Ford tires.
10. Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S (F-150 Lobo)
Back in June Ford revealed a new F-150 variant called the Lobo. Like the Maverick Lobo, the F-150 Lobo is an aggressive street performance truck. Under the hood is a 400-horsepower 5.0L V8. Because this truck is geared towards street performance, it needed tires to match. So, wrapped around the 22-inch gloss-black wheels are Bridgestone Alenza all-seasons measuring 275/50-22. It is a decent tire, but like many all-seasons, it is a compromise. It is not super sticky for street performance. It is not made for snow or ice or serious off-roading. They offer a decent ride and moderate performance -- better than many standard truck tires -- but are not the best tires Ford offers.
9. Michelin LTX A/T2 (Various Super Duty Models)
The F-250 and F-350 Super Duty models have a number of different tire choices as standard equipment. But one of the more common models is the Michelin LTX A/T2. It is hard to go wrong with any Michelin tire and that is the case here. These all-season tires offer reasonable comfort but are also rugged enough to handle some off-road adventures and punishment from towing heavy loads.
8. Pirelli Scorpion ATR (F-150 FX4)
If you order a Ford F-150 with the FX4 off-road package, you will likely get a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires. Ford figures that those who elect the FX4 package are going to want a more off-road-ready vehicle, and that starts with the tires. The Scorpion ATR is an On-Road All-Terrain light truck tire. It's designed to handle long highway drives, but also wet and snowy roads while providing enough grip for challenging off-road conditions. This is a versatile tire that can handle nearly every condition well, but it is not the absolute best in any category (and can quickly become overwhelmed off-road).
7. Bridgestone Dueler (Explorer Tremor)
The first-ever Explorer Tremor is heading our way for the 2026 model year. Like the other Tremor models in the Ford lineup, the Explorer Tremor is focused on off-road duty. To give the Explorer some off-road chops Ford gave it a powerful engine, increased the approach and departure angles, tuned the suspension and of course fitted it with some all-terrain tires. The standard tires on this model will be 18-inch Bridgestone Dueler all-terrains. These knobby tires are excellent in wet and snowy conditions but can also handle a moderate amount of off-roading. These are solid, rugged tires that will help the Explorer go places it has never been before.
6. 33-Inch General Grabber A/TX (F-150 Tremor, Expedition Tremor)
The Explorer Tremor gets Bridgestone Duelers, but the F-150 and Expedition Tremor models come with 33-inch General Grabber A/TX rubber. It wasn’t that long ago that 33-inch tires were only one modified off-road vehicle but here they are on mainstream Ford trucks and SUVs. General might not have the name recognition of Bridgestone, Michelin, or Pirell,i but the Grabber A/TX is a serious tire. It blends all-season capability and drivability with an aggressive design and some real off-road credentials. The A/TX also earns the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol for severe winter conditions and can even wear winter studs. If you get stuck anywhere, it will not be the tires' fault. (You can see how we tested them HERE.)
5. 35-Inch Goodyear Territory M/T (2021-2024 Bronco Sasquatch)
For the Bronco with the Sasquatch package, we step up to big-boy 35-inch tires. Through the 2024 model year, Ford put Goodyear Territory M/T tires on the Sasquatch Broncos (Also sometimes known as Goodyear Wrangler, a word Ford didn't want to see on a Bronco). These are SUVs that are designed to do some serious off-roading and tackle the tough trails. The Goodyear Territory M/T is up to the challenge. These tires can handle on-road driving duties (albeit with some noise), but they are happiest on the trails.
4. 35-Inch Goodyear Territory A/T (2025+ Bronco Sasquatch)
Starting in 2025, the Bronco Sasquatch vehicles switched to Goodyear Territory A/T tires. These tires have a bit more on-road bias than the M/Ts, but the off-road performance is not that far off. And in exchange you get a tire with significantly less road noise. This is a great tire, but it just misses landing on the podium.
3. 35-Inch Goodyear Wrangler A/T (Super Duty Tremor)
Are you seeing a pattern yet with the Ford Tremor models? They get some of the best tires that Ford offers. Coming in at number three on our list is the 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler A/T that you get on the Super Duty Tremor models. These tires are developed to tackle tough off-road trails and are reinforced with Kevlar to make them even stronger.
2. 33-Inch BF Goodrich K03 (Ranger Raptor)
This will probably not come as any surprise but if anything can top the tires that come on the Ford Tremor models, it will be those that come on the Raptor models. Landing in the number two spot on our list are the BF Goodrich KO3 tires on the Ranger Raptor. The KO3 is the third and newest generation of BF Goodrich’s Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire. These tires get the three-peak mountain snowflake rating for severe snow conditions, but it is on the trail that most people will appreciate these tires.
These tires feature alternating shoulder scoops to deliver clawing force for control and traction in sand and dirt. There are also Mud Phobic bars to prevent the buildup of mud and gunk in the treads. The upper shoulder and sidewall of the tire use CoreGuard Technology which is a split resistant rubber compound. These are fantastic tires.
1. 35/37-Inch BF Goodrich KO2 (Raptor R, Raptor, & Bronco Raptor)
We almost put the KO3 tires here at number one as they are newer and a bit more advanced than the KO2. But we gave the KO2 the close win because Ford offers them in larger sizes than the KO3. Also, the KO2 handles the immense power that the Raptor R is capable of. Combine that with the legendary off-road performance and durability, and you have the best tire that Ford offers today. But the KO3 is primed to take the top spot soon when/if Ford replaces its OEM tires for its top trucks and SUVs.
