This Wild 1992 Ford Bronco Is a Former Federal Surveillance Vehicle
This 1992 Ford Bronco was once used by the FBI, but now it's up for sale to the general public.
Truly Unique
It's not exactly a secret that the Ford Bronco has been one of the most sought-after vehicles on the market over the past several years. Even before the arrival of the all-new sixth-gen model in 2021, the Bronco has remained a fan favorite, sending the values of every generation soaring. That includes the fifth-gen Bronco, which has seen a tremendous lift in pricing as of late, but this 1992 example up for sale at Chicago Motors is likely the most unique fifth-gen on the market right now.

Incognito
This particular Bronco was once used by the FBI as a surveillance vehicle, in fact, which is not something we see every day. Rather, law enforcement has historically utilized plain white vans for those types of activities, though in all fairness, those are pretty easy for criminals to spot sitting on the side of the road. This Bronco - on the other hand - probably wouldn't and seems likely to blend in nicely.

Special Division
This Bronco wasn't just used for stakeouts, however, but rather, by the Homeland Security Investigations division. That particular unit engages in a variety of activities such as investigating national security threats, acts of terrorism, and both human trafficking and narcotics smuggling.

Mobile Office
The agency did modify this Bronco in a few minor ways to better serve it, tinting the windows so no one can see what's going on inside, adding a rear partition, a desk, power outlets, and a swivel chair, essentially turning the back portion of the SUV into a mobile office of sorts.

If Cars Could Talk
After that process was complete, the HSI used its special Bronco in Texas for a number of years, though as one might imagine, the details of those exploits aren't exactly public knowledge. We can only imagine the things that this SUV has seen and done, but on the flip side, since it's in such nice shape, perhaps it enjoyed a more mundane career.

Solid Shape
With just 39k original miles on the clock, this 1992 Bronco remains in solid shape, and it has been in public hands for a number of years now. Outside of a couple of dents and dings here and there, there aren't many flaws to note, and the Bronco has been treated to plenty of routine maintenance as of late to keep it in tip-top driving condition.

Conversation Piece
With an asking price of $29,995, this 1992 Bronco certainly seems like a fair deal in today's inflated world, though it obviously won't be quite as appealing to those who want a bone stock example. However, if you care more about having a cool conversation piece than an appreciating collectible, this is certainly the Bronco for you.
