Richie Meyer

To modify different aspects of a truck, you usually need various experts and articles to help you get it to where you want it to be. However, the owner of this 1999 Ford Ranger can simply do it all. Richie Meyer is a fabricator and a welder for the Department of Defense, but he also helps out a great deal at RM Motorsports in California. That's the place where he has sharpened his skills that led him to build this vicious pickup.

Engine

The engine is set for some huge modifications, but for now, this 1999 Ford Ranger is equipped with the 2.5-liter Duratec engine. The only two engine modifications Meyer has made so far is a K&N air intake and Borla mufflers for the exhaust system. Richie's plans are big for this little Ranger, and a bigger engine is in its future.

Crazy Rear

The entire rear is a full cage fabricated and welded by Richie Meyer himself, which is anchored by a three-link LSK suspension system. This system features a Currie Enterprises housing, which houses 4:56 gears. Supporting the unique rear end is a set of King coilovers, as well as 14-inch Wilwood disc and caliper brakes.

Exterior

There are some resemblances between this Ford Ranger and an average Ranger, but not too many. You may notice the fiberglass fenders, which make room for the BFGs, as well as a modified bed panel to free up some room for the huge wheels. Since Richie lives in the desert, the truck had to be modified for full visibility in the dark open areas. That is is why he installed two 30-inch LED light bars that can brighten up most of Apple Valley, CA.

Interior

Richie surrounded himself with a full cage, which tells you his intentions for the future with this capable Ranger. Even with the tight space left, he was able to replace the stock seats with MasterCraft ones. The entire dashboard is gone, and now the gauges sit inside an aluminum dash, which also holds a JVC stereo system. The center console is now where Meyer can control all of the electrical switches for everything on the pickup. Finally, Richie gets to pilot this truck with a MOMO steering wheel, while being strapped with a Crow Enterprises five-point harness.

Final Touches

The 1999 Ranger sit on 16x7-inch Pro Comp wheels, which sit inside BFGoodrich KO2 tires that make this truck a joy to cut through the various terrains with. Finally, to make this pickup as capable as it sounds, Meyer heavily modified the stock frame at RM Motorsports, and now this truck can take rougher bumps than any other Ranger on the dirt, especially with the Double Wishbone front suspension system, which includes the LSK 4130 front spindles that will make this Ford straight fun to drive.
