Just when you have a little faith in humanity, this comes along and ruins it.
Lack of Common Sense
Before the internet existed, we pretty much assumed that most people had common sense. The existence of the world wide web has since shattered that confidence, of course, and shed some light on the fact that, well, lots of people just don't know what the heck they're doing. Case in point - this poor Ford F-150, which has essentially been ruined by a slide-in camper.

Total Disaster
Two photos of this poor Ford pickup popped up in two separate Reddit threads - here and here - some time ago. Unsurprisingly, the truck was spotted in Florida, where crazy scenes like this are just part of daily life. Obviously, the camper doesn't fit the truck, exceeds its payload capacity, and is apparently being held in place by nothing more than a yellow strap.

Defying Physics
What's absolutely insane about this F-150 is that even though the bed and presumably the frame are all bent up, the truck is still holding on. As is the camper, which looks like it should fall out with even a mild press of the gas pedal. According to one Redditor, the truck is still driving around Florida just like this and hasn't fallen apart or caused a major accident yet.

Waiting To Happen
What's particularly shocking, however, is the fact that the police or another authority haven't banished this pickup to a parking spot. The F-150 is obviously a rolling accident waiting to happen, and yet, it's still apparently being allowed to continue roaming the roads freely.

Faith Restored
Regardless, there are plenty of examples of how to install one of these slide-in campers in a truck properly that can be found in the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forums. And that's enough to restore our faith in humanity - at least a little bit, for now.

Keeps on Giving
However, it won't be long before we come across another incredibly dumb scene involving a Blue Oval pickup - we're certain of that. If there's one thing the internet has proven, it's that there are plenty of folks lacking basic common sense out there in the world. It's just a gift that keeps on giving.
