This F-350 is All About Putting in Work

This massive, lifted Super Duty might look like a show truck, but in the real world, it's a workhorse too.

1. "Dark Knight" F-350

Everybody knows that trucks are, and always have been built for a specific purpose. And that purpose is to work. After all, there's a reason why pickup beds don't come with optional hot tubs or reclining sofas built into them. But quite a few folks these days put so much money and time into heavy duty rigs like this 2015 F-350 that they wind up serving as nothing more than show queens. Take one look at Carl Fick's truck and you might assume that it too is a rolling puff piece. But as we learned in this recent Truck Trend feature, it's anything but.

2. All About That Stance

We won't blame you for thinking that Fick's ride is a show truck. After all, it's loaded with a ton of unique and custom features rarely seen on a workhorse. Obviously, the first thing you'll notice are the massive 22.5" 10-lug wheels and 295/75R22.5 Goodyear tires. To convert the truck from 8-lug, custom spacers were used that also added 5" of track width to the front end. To make room for the beefy rolling stock, Fick installed a 10-inch Fabtech lift kit and shock spacers that give the truck roughly 12" of total lift. Out back, Air Lift air springs and 5.5" Pro Comp lift blocks keep things elevated.

3. A Little Extra Giddy Up

To compensate for the added rolling mass underneath, Fick added a couple of extras to help out in the power department. They include a custom tuned SCT programmer, AFE intake, and Flo-Pro 5" exhaust. Output now stands at 550 horsepower, which is a pretty decent increase over the stock rating of 440 horsepower.

4. Comfy Confines

Other than the SCT's monitor, you won't find anything out of the ordinary on the inside of this F-350. But when you're surrounded by luxurious Lariat trim, there really isn't much of a need for upgrades. Plus, the driver's seat sees plenty of use, as TT reports that Carl provided them with proof of the truck hauling everything from loads of equipment to various cars and even an ambulance.

5. Looking the Part

The outside of Carl's F-350 certainly looks tough, but it's very much functional as well. LED light bars were added to the grill and sit above a Winch Ready Bumpers front bumper. Custom tow hooks hide behind the tough looking bumper, which also houses a Smittybilt 15.5K synthetic rope winch. Out back, the rear bumper houses a set of light pods. The rear fenders are actually off an armored F-450. And inside the bed, you'll find a handy E-Track hook system.
